Call out for Expressions of Interest (EOI)

An invitation to people with Mental Health and Alcohol and other Drug Issues and their Carers/Family/Supporters.

The Interim Regional Body (IRB) in Barwon South West is running a number of projects t capture key voices. This project is under the leadership of two members of the IRB: Eila Lyon and Gerard Reed. The project is being conducted by the Self Help Addiction Resource Centre (SHARC) in a process designed to elevate the voice of people with LLE mental health and alcohol and other drug issues, both as consumers and carers.

This project will consider three aspects of LLE leadership and empowerment:

  1. Consumer voice and choice in care and treatment and appropriate inclusion of family, carers and supporters
  2. The involvement of people with lived and living experience and expertise in governance and advisory roles
  3. The role and capacity of the LLE workforce across and at all levels of the regional mental health system and AOD sector.

Who is this opportunity for?

  • People with Lived and Living Experience supporting someone with mental health issues, psychological distress, or mental health diagnosis and alcohol and other drug issues. OR
  • Peer workers or people in designated carer LLE roles.

What is involved?

Focus groups are being held in the region for both carers/family/supporters and LLE Workforce. Please see relevant attached flyer below for list of dates focus groups will be held. These will either be in person or online and you chose your preference. If you can’t attend SHARC will look at other options for your involvement.

Please note:

  • A payment of $180 plus GST will be made to each participant in acknowledgement of time and expertise. This will be managed at the focus groups.
